Plovdiv Throwdown is a two-day fitness competition taking place for third time in the beautiful city of Plovdiv. The event is powered by MoVe Team. 210 athletes will earn their spot in the finals, through the online qualifiers.

The Event

Plovdiv Throwdown is a two-day fitness competition taking place for third time in the beautiful city of Plovdiv. The event is powered by MoVe Team. 210 athletes will earn their spot in the finals, through the online qualifiers. The first 40 men will advance to the finals in RX division, 60 in division Men scaled, 20 women in RX division and 40 in Women scaled division.20 men in mastersand 10 women in masters division 10 boys and 10 girls under 20 years old in teens divisions. Qualifiers

Qualifier 1

Amrap: 7 min

This workout begins with the athletes standing in front of the barbell. At the count of 3…2…1 go, the athletes will have 7 minutes to complete as many reps as possible of 10 deadlifts, 5 shoulder to overhead, 10 box jumps. The workout is over when the timer reaches 7 minutes. The score is the total number of repetitions completed for these 7 minutes.

Equipment

• Barbell.
• Standard bumper plates (18 inches in diameter) to load to the appropriate weight for your division.
• Jump Box.

During the workout the athletes are not allowed to use any help from another person to prepare the equipment.

Video submission standards
Prior to starting, film the equipment to be used so the loads and majors can be seen clearly. All video submissions should be uncut and unedited in order to accurately display the performance. A clock or timer with the running workout time clearly visible should be in the frame throughout the entire workout. Shoot the video from an angle so all exercises can be clearly seen meeting the movement standards. Videos shot with a fisheye lens or similar lens may be rejected due to the visual distortion these lenses cause.

Wall Ball Shots

All male divisions: 9 kg (20lbs) med ball; Target height – 305cm or 10ft
All female divisions: 6 kg(14lbs) med ball; Target height – 275cm or 9ft

This workout “2A” begins with the athletes standing in front of the barbell. At the count of 3…2…1 go, the athletes will have 7 minutes to complete 12 power Snatches and bar muscle-ups 9 power Snatches and bar muscle-ups 6 power Snatches and bar muscle-ups. The workout is over when the athletes complete all the movements, or reach 7 min. The athletes will rest 1 min on a running clock. When the timer reach 8 min, starts the second part of the workout “2B”. In the second part “3B” the athletes will have 7 min to complete 150 Wall ball shots. The second part Is over when the timer reach 15 min. The score in “2A” is the time needed to complete all the movements. If an athlete reach the time cap before finishing all the movements, the score will be cap + repetitions needed to complete the workout 2A. The score in “2B” is the time needed to complete all the movements. . If an athlete reach the time cap before finishing all the movements, the score will be cap + repetitions needed to complete the workout 2B.

European Capital of Culture 2019

Plovdiv is the second-largest city in Bulgaria, with a city population of 345,213. It is an important economic, transport, cultural, and educational center. There is evidence of habitation in Plovdiv dating back to the 6th millennium BCE. It is said to be one of the oldest cities in Europe.

Plovdiv was selected as Bulgarian host of European Capital of Culture in 2019. For 2019, an ambitious cultural program has started its realisation. According to this program, there will be an Island of Arts in the middle of the Maritsa River in Plovdiv. The “Kapana” area (the “Trap”) will become a quarter of the arts where the creative industries are going to be developed and presented.
